And the 2nd assignment!!!! :) i hope u guys will be encouraged!!!! =)
The book Good Morning, Holy Spirit by Benny Hinn reveals the secret to his successful, international healing evangelical ministry – the Holy Spirit. Indeed as Zechariah 4:6 puts it “’Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the LORD Almighty”.I finally understood what makes Benny Hinn different from most professing Christians. It was nothing more than his dynamic and highly-intimate relationship with the Holy Spirit. His hunger for the Holy Spirit is like no other. There was such an immense desire in him to want to spend time alone with the third Person of the Godhead. Laying everything aside – the worries of life, the exciting activities and fun the world could offer – he would spend literally hours fellowshipping and building a friendship with the Holy Spirit. The time he spent with the Holy Spirit goes beyond the conventional prayer or brief worship that people do during their quiet time. He would have a conversation with the Holy Spirit – a 2-way communication – and he related to the Holy Spirit just like he does to another person!
That really got me thinking. Despite knowing that the Holy Spirit is like a person with a personality, I’ve never really got down to relating to Him like I would to a human being. Somehow my carnal mind just can’t seem to understand how that would be humanly possible. And my desire to spend hours alone with the Holy Spirit somehow didn’t last for long. I would either get distracted by the never-ending pile of tasks to be done or would already be too physically drained by the different events that took place in the day to last worshipping and speaking to Him for hours.
But if Benny Hinn is able to build such a relationship with the Holy Spirit, I want that too. As he mentioned, if the message of salvation that the Holy Spirit brought forth into our hearts is so real and the assurance that our citizenship is in heaven is so real, wouldn’t the messenger be even more real to us?
Another simple truth that Benny Hinn presented was that a sinner is receiving more power from Satan (despite Satan having only a tiny fraction of God’s power) than a believer who asks nothing from God. The truth then began to sink in. The reason why I’m defeated in certain areas in my life does not lie in the fact that God could not help or could not save me in those areas. But simply because I ignored the most powerful person in the universe – the Holy Spirit – in those areas. Indeed, if the Holy Spirit is not the Lord of all, He’s not the Lord at all.
People are starving for a reality that only the Holy Spirit can make possible and He has been waiting ever so patiently for me to start inviting Him to be more intimate and real in my life. It’s time I do something about the present relationship I have with Him and start taking it into a deeper level of fellowship, friendship and understanding. After all, as what Kathryn Kuhlman said, He is indeed all I’ve got.
